~ Two for tea ~

Is there anything better than finding a new little treasure of a place?
I'm forever on the hunt to find the perfect place for a girlfriends lunch.

Come let us have tea and continue to talk about happy things.

BFF and I had a favorite tea room years ago, but alas it went out of business.
Every since then I have been searching ........and searching.
I feel like Goldilocks
It has to be JUST right.

Not too silly, not too ....

It must be
a place where all of your senses are nurtured
Soft music?  Check.
The perfect strains with a French flair fill the air

The sound of water trickling in nearby fountains? Check.

Lovely linens? Check.

Flowers? Check.

Something pretty at every turn? Check.

Check

And check

and be still my heart.........GREAT FOOD? CHECK!!!

Roasted red pepper soup with goat cheese crostini, Greek quiche with feta and olive. Yum
Kudos to chef Eva Gray with Simply Delicious Catering

Move " The Vintage Veranda" to the top of the list.

724 S. Scenic, Springfield MO

A gentleman is always welcome, but this is the sort of place that feeds the female soul.

Speaking of feeding the soul, let's not kid anyone .
You know I'm talking about dessert here!!!!

Come to Momma

Not only is this a lovely tea room, but the attached shops
"Robin's Vintage Suitcase"
 and
" The Garden District"
are beautiful.

Let me share just a few glimpses of this adorable shop.
the owner 'Robin Gilmore' really has an eye for setting the stage.

and lots of little sweet 'nothings' to make you smile

Is it possible, I've found the perfect place?
I think the empty plates speak for themselves

And so this day ends with a big smile
As BFF and I nod in agreement.

Here it's good to be a girl.

  2. Move over ladies, I'm coming too ;) Let's see....have tea first or shop first?? Maybe a sandwich and tea first, shop next, and then tea and cake later.

  3. Terri, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Southern Lagniappe blog, and especially for your kind words.

Thank you, too, for sharing the Vintage Veranda and the charming little shops surrounding it ... I would love to visit them in person and have some of that scrumptious-looking cake.

Your "Dressed Up Cottage" is truly elegant, and I'll be back to visit often.

    Sincerely,
    Janie

  4. This was such a wonderful day. You always seem to have a sixth sense about finding these little gems. I always just come up with The Olive Garden! This was just such a perfect place and I hope more people find it.

As always, it was just the perfect day. At the end of my days, as I'm going over those little things that made life so sweet, you, my dear BFF and days like this will comprise a host of them.

    1. Days like this, would be worth nothing, without a wonderful friend to share them with.

  5. OOOhhhhh swoon. I adore this post. I wish I had a place like this to go and just enjoy the loveliness. So very me. I am glad you had a wonderful time! There's nothing like a good cup of tea to bring you to another time where things were simpler and maybe just a bit more feminine and lovely. :) Love it.
