The invitation went out
Plans were set in place.
Of course I'm always planning my luncheon at least a year out. I get a little idea here, a thought to tuck away there...for future use. Planning is half the fun.
I so look forward to the girlfriends luncheon.
It's just the two of us, BFF's .........but I still want everything to be just right.
This year, it's a Summer luncheon on the porch.

Now let's set the stage, shall we?
It all started with these lovely little plates I found on ebay. I am a sucker for fleur-di-lis. So they had me at hello. Once I got them, I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my luncheon this year. So I decided on a blue and white theme. Plus, blue and white is just so summery.
So now I have my color theme, and off I go.
Love these blue glasses I found at a flea market (where else?)
woven wicker chargers,
Soft blue hydrangeas and white roses, in a rustic Italian pot.
My collection of mis- matched vintage silver flatware
Speaking of feast, what's on the menu?
Relaxing on the porch swing with a full tummy.
Ahhh, life is good.
Ahhh, life is good.
Best friend, beautiful, inside and out.
We are two peas in a pod.
These luncheons are my little gift to a wonderful friend.
Is it worth all the work, you might ask?
You bet.
Hi, Terri - What a gracious hostess and lovely best friend you are! You really thought of everything to make that luncheon special. I love all your thoughtful touches: from the seasonal decor to the little molded butter pats. Just perfect! Will you plan my next luncheon?
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Loi
How sweet Loi.
DeleteOf course I will help plan your next luncheon. Have party will travel. Ha ha.
The food was superb, the setting beautiful, and the friendship cannot be matched. Lizzie, you are one of the brightest lights of my life and the best friend I ever had. I will always, always endeavor to deserve you as a friend, even while I'm just a little jealous that I am not as talented at this as you are. All this for me. FOR ME. JUST FOR ME. You've been doing this for me for over a decade and I still can't believe it. I love you, Lizzie. You have brought so much beauty, not just aesthetic, but emotional, into my life.
ReplyDeleteNow how could I possibly respond to that? We are two lucky little peas in a pod.....to have such a wonderful LONG friendship. My cup runneth over.
Deletesooo beautiful and fun! I adore the china and the birds' nests and the little blue tumblers. And hydrangeas are my favorite :) or at least one of the top five. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore Hydrangeas too Kerri. And white roses are another all time fav. There's just nothing like fresh flowers on the table, to make things seem special.
DeleteHow wonderful that you celebrate your friendship over this perfect lunch. Every detail has been beautifully addressed! The menu looks sooo delicious. Also, I covet those little blue and white plates! (Just found your blog. I look forward to reading old posts.)
ReplyDeleteWelcome StagerLinda. Glad you stopped by. I know what you mean about those plates. As I said, when I saw them on ebay.....had to have 'em.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Have a great day.
What a gorgeous spread!
ReplyDeleteFit for a queen, really!
Your menu looks amazing too.
What a lucky lady your friend
